IME Plus Evaluations Ltd. has incorporated protocols in alignment with the Ministry of Health recommendations for COVID-19 to ensure a clean and safe environment
and ensure the health and safety of our valued clients, visitors and clinical team.
The following are the IME Plus Evaluations Ltd. COVID-19 Guidelines for the management of its assessment facilities and offices:

COVID-19 SCREENING

The following are requirements prior to entering IME Plus Evaluations Ltd. evaluation facilities by both visitors and employees:

ONLY EMPLOYEES, MEDICAL EVALUATORS AND INDIVIDUALS BEING EVALUATED ARE PERMITTED ENTRY TO THE FACILITY. 

ACCOMPANYING PERSONS ARE  NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER UNLESS ADVANCE PERMISSION HAS BEEN GIVEN.

DELIVERY PERSONNEL ARE TO CONTACT THE FACILITY STAFF PRIOR TO ENTERING. 

Please review the following questions to confirm your fitness to enter the facility. 

Do you currently have any of the following symptoms?

  • Severe Cough
  • Significant Nasal congestion or Runny nose
  • Fever > 38 Degrees C
  • Headache
  • Muscle pains
  • Shortness of breath
  • Reduced or lost sense of smell
  • Have you failed to use social distancing in the last two weeks?
  • Have you come into contact with anyone that has any of the above-noted symptoms in the last two weeks?
  • Have you come into contact with anyone suspected of having COVID-19 in the last 2 weeks?
  • Have you come into contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks?

IF YOU HAVE ANSWERED YES TO ANY OF THE ABOVE QUESTIONS, DO NOT ENTER THE FACILITY/ATTEND SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT.

CLINICAL CLEANING

  • All shared medical equipment including: stethoscope, blood pressure cuffs and scale etc. will be cleaned between examinations
  • Surfaces (ex. counters, tables, examining table, chairs) will be cleaned after each person leaves
  • Frequently-touched surfaces (ex. door knobs, light switches, telephones, washrooms) to be cleaned frequently or following use
  • Cleaning will be completed using alcohol (70-95% ethyl or isopropyl alcohol) or 5.25% sodium hypochlorite at 50,000ppm (1:50 dilution of household bleach)
    as per Ministry of Health recommendations


PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
  • Physical barriers are in place where required to allow for physical distancing of 2 metres or 6 feet
  • Masks/face shield to be worn by reception employee(s)


PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

All visitors are required to use hand sanitizer upon arrival at the facility and are required to wear a mask.

Due to limited availability of Personal Protective Equipment, visitors are encouraged to provide their own masks when possible. Cloth masks are acceptable
  • Mask /required PPE for evaluators, chaperone, interpreters and reception staff
  • Reception staff to use mask/ face shield and gloves
  • All medical examiners are required to use surgical mask and/or face shield and gloves for direct physical examinations



Visitor Management

All visitors including employees, medical evaluators and examinees will be screened with respect
to entry to all national facilities. This screen is at the time of booking and upon arrival to the
assessment facility.

All visitors entering the facility will be screened upon entry. In accordance with our providers own
COVID-19 policies, transportation services will be providing curbside pickup and drop off, and
translators will be providing their own PPE.

Medical Evaluation COVID-19 Symptoms Screening

Current Centre for Disease Control (CDC) data outlines that symptoms develop within 2-14 days following exposure to the virus.
The symptoms most commonly associated with COVID-19 are:

  • Severe Cough
  • Significant nasal congestion or significant runny nose
  • Fever (Temp > 38oC)
  • Muscle Pains
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chills
  • Sore Throat
  • Reduced, or lost sense of taste or smell
  • Headache

Screening Questions
A set of screening questions based upon the CDC described symptoms (above) and a Ministry of Health
COVID-19 screening tool are as follows:

Do you have a fever (Temperature > 37.8 oC)?

Do you have any of the following symptoms or signs?

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chills
  • Muscle Pain
  • Sore Throat / Runny nose / Nasal congestion
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain
  • Unexplained fatigue/malaise
  • Headache


Have you failed to use social distancing in the last two weeks?

Have you travelled or had close contact with anyone that has travelled in the past 14 days?

Have you had close contact with anyone with a respiratory illness or a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19?

If YES is responded to any of these questions, an evaluee will be asked to reschedule their assessment in 2 weeks/following recovery.

For evaluees that answer NO to all questions, the medical evaluation will be completed as scheduled. 

Appointment Management & Scheduling


The goal of appointment management and scheduling is to the minimize the time that each visitor spends in the facility and their contact with other individuals.
This will include:

  • Offset appointment arrival times for different providers – staggered by minimum 15 minutes
  • Only essential members to attend assessment: evaluee, interpreter and medical evaluator
  • Screening during scheduling – COVID 19 Guidelines provided
  • Social distancing must be maintained, including waiting in parking and waiting areas
  • Seating in the waiting areas have been arranged or blocked to optimize physical distancing of minimum 2 meters/6 feet
  • Evaluees may be directly assessed, however social distancing of 2 metres/6 feet will be ensured for examination
